Several clubs have sprung up
around California. There's a
Surf City Bar & Grill, Surf City
Saloon, Surf City Bar & Grill
(over the state line in Nevada)
and a host of places that cater
to the grunge crowd, surfers,
indy lovers, sports fans and
regular folks. Surf music
as a genre doesn't have much of
an audience to sustain nighttime
club entertainment. Many places
in California have tried it but
there's not enough draw to keep
the audience entertained, a room
filled and bring them back for
more.
So when you check out Surf
City Saloons and Bars, you'll
discover they mostly offer rock,
metal and alternate music,
merely using the "surf city" as
a name holder, not as a theme
grabber.
