Surf City Kids Vacations are the
cat's pajamas. Children love the beach
and you'll find 20 billion-million
grains of sand in the huge California
beach that makes up Surf City.
From surfing to skateboarding in Surf
City, USA's favorite kid's place to shop
for cool clothes is the ideal spot to
buy back-to-school wardrobes. Moms and
dads can treat their kids to Main Street
USA shopping, surf items, surf lessons
and even a birthday vacation party in
this beach city near Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm.
But don't stop there. Take your kid
on a vacation trip that includes a visit
to the Block with its huge Van's Skate
Park. While Surf City features two
routine skateboard training grounds,
Van's is the king park.
Are you looking for some
things to do with your kids in Surf
City?
If you want the kiddies to wear off
energy, rent them some skates or a
bicycle (built for two). Then take them
to get some ice cream at Foster's
Freeze, Cold Stone, Baskin Robbins or
Black Pearl Brewery where gelatos are
served.
Got fast food? You betcha! Burger
King, McDonalds, Taco Bell, IHOP, KFC,
Pizza Hut, Dominos, Wendy's, In N Out
Burger, Denny's and a host of fast food
restaurants with play stations, play
equipment, food boxes with prizes and
affordable kids meals will make the
American boy or girl feel right at home.
When kids travel on these kid
vacations they sometimes get sick and
need meds. It's not a problem in Surf
City, mom & dad. At least 5 of the
hotels have refrigerators to keep your
antibiotics chilled and there are
medical emergency clinics to solve your
kid's ills, from falls and scrapes to
sinus infections that won't go away.
Gotta go? Kids only give you one
minute warning when it's time to find a
bathroom. Surf City has bathrooms at the
beach and they usually are available
without a wait. Several handicap
bathrooms allow room for moms and dads
to help their tots.
Fun kids things beside the beach
include swings at local parks. The
closest to the beach is at Lake Park,
about 7 blocks away on Main Street.
Huntington Beach doesn't have any swings
on its beaches.
Next door to Surf City is a bowling
alley or family fun miniature golf in
Fountain Valley, Chuck E. Cheese in
Huntington Beach, roller skating and ice
skating in Huntington Beach, an indoor
climbing facility and several indoor
kiddie gyms.
For great kids' museums, there's a
Discovery Museum in Santa Ana that's
made for children and Orange County
Repertory Theater with plays that often
feature themes for kids.
There's a movie theater at the beach
in Surf City with kids movies featured
regularly. If you don't find the movie
you like there at Surfcity 6
Cinemas, go to Edwards Charter 5 in
Huntington Beach for a kids movie if
one's appearing.
So, if you think you can't travel
with kids, think again. Surf City loves
babies, toddlers, kids, teens and tweens.
Bring 'em along for the time of their
life (and yours)!
