Donna Billick is an artist who's
taken the surfing and beach themes of
California and translated them
into public art through
commissioned works. Her
art can
be seen in a variety of public
places and spaces. One of her
trademarks is a realistic
portrayal of a beach sports,
with a spin. She can turn a
diver upside down, literally
placing the bronze, life-size
statue on its head.
Simple and simply fun,
Billick's work is not
controversial. It's whimsical,
funny and fun.
You'll often find kids and
adults hanging around the art,
taking a fun photo.
