A Surf City California hotels need
not be expensive in the vein of a luxury
resort. As a matter of fact, we have
only a few requirements in adding a Surf
City hotel to our list. It's got to have
surf, of course. It doesn't have to be
in the city--the country is just fine.
But to list it here, we'd prefer it
would be in California.
Are you looking for a California
hotel to spend a little time in,
enjoying the California sun?
Needless to say, there's no way we can
try out all the hotel there are in this
huge state. But we've visited and slept
at quite a few and have found some
standouts.
Surfers are going to like something
with waves outside your door. Several
hotels are particular standouts for
out-the-door and off the shore surfing
action.
Best Western Lighthouse Inn in
Pacifica's Rockaway Beach not only sits
next to a surfing spot, but the rooms
look out on surfers, too. Pretty close!
Another hotel in the same county, San
Mateo, is The Beach House at Half Moon
Bay. Right out the back hotel gate to
the beach is Surfers Beach. Not only are
there some great waves right there out
your door, just down the road is
Mavericks, home to big wave (up to 60
foot) wave action.
Up and down the coast you'll find
some awesome hotels and resorts for
surfers and non-surfers alike. But the
two mentioned above just happen to be
several we've checked out and really
enjoyed.
